Public Outreach We have agreements to develop exhibits, films and internet presentations to educate the public about the ancient past and how scientists work to understand the evolution of life. This project will also develop inquiry-based activities on the phylogeny of fishes for middle school-aged youth, and produce educational films based on two extraordinary fossil localities (Gogo in Australia and Bear Gulch in Montana, USA). Fishes are an ideal group of organisms for exploring these kinds of ideas for broad audiences: they are familiar, readily recognizable, and incredible diverse with a rich evolutionary history.
